Ab Initio Developer - Contract - Edinburgh

Alexander Ash are working with a leading information technology and outsourcing company who have a specific engagement working with an asset/investment management client based in Edinburgh. They are seeking a number of Ab Initio Developers who are experts Abinitio and possess 10+ years in ETL Development.

Experience required:

  • Candidate must possess solid understanding of data warehousing dimensional design patterns and fundamentals
  • Has to demonstrate experience in leveraging various Ab Initio components to develop complex batch and continuous graphs.
  • The primary focus of the position is to technical designs, process flows, code development, unit/system/UAT testing, and post implementation support.
  • This role works closely with Business Analysts, Database Administrators, QA, BI Developers, and Architects.
  • Utilize Ab Initio Graphical Development Environment (GDE) to provide technical specifications to programmers to implement ETL changes and maintain high throughput and performance to meet regulatory demands, including frequency of filed regulatory reports and high level of retail transaction volumes.
  • Responsible for development, support, maintenance and implementation of a complex project module.
  • Strong technical skills in Ab Initio, UNIX Shell Scripting, SQL (Oracle, SQL Server and Teradata) and other scheduling tools.
  • Extensively worked on SQL Server, Oracle and Teradata as databases using Ab Initio as ETL tool for large scale data integration.
  • Good understanding on the Ab Initio Admin concepts and all EME features. Extensive knowledge of Ab Initio Continuous flows.
