Alexander Ash Volunteers at Creative Support

Tuesday 26th June 2018

Thanks to Creative Support we got to spend the day with some really interesting people at Sue Starkey House near Limehouse, as part of our CSR work. The service users and residents were from a wide variety of backgrounds, different ages, and with varying degrees of disabilities. What was great to see was everyone from Alexander Ash mixing in with the residents/service users and ensuring everyone had a good day. We all worked hard but it was not a chore at all, as it was great seeing how happy it made the residents that we were there. Hetty had some amazing stories about her childhood during the war and being sent to a country estate to live with “the lady of the manor” as she put it. And I am looking forward to reading some books authored by her daughter Ruth. Martin’s speech at the end of the day thanking us was also very touching. I know we all found the day really rewarding and I will certainly be signing up for our next similar CSR event. Also thank you to the East London Business Alliance for organising another fantastic day for us!
