Application Support Analyst - Post Trade - Contract - London

Alexander Ash are currently working with a global financial organisation who are looking for an Application Support Analyst to join their multi-disciplinary team. This is an exciting opportunity for any Application Support Analyst who is dedicated and will seek to identify improvements and efficiencies, while utilising new technologies and existing tools as the organisation takes on one of it's biggest bodies of work.

Our client is looking for someone who has a good understanding of Cloud App support, PostGres & Jira - they are open to backgrounds; however, the perfect candidate would have post trade exp!

Key responsibilities:

• Building and supporting environments
• Running intraday and end of day batches using Control-M job schedular
• Responding to queries from application users
• Liaising with other technology teams to facilitate build/support/troubleshooting activities
• Making minor code enhancements where possible as part of continuous improvement to the support function
• Configuring monitoring and logging software (Datadog preferably) on all resources of the application service
• Incident management

Desired Skills:

• Experience in an investment banking environment
• Familiarity with financial products and financial terms
• Excellent analytical skills and problem-solving abilities
• Experience of testing and presenting test results highly desirable
• Experience of working in an IT support team
• Preferable exposure to the Murex application
• Preferable exposure to AWS Cloud technologies (EC2, EBS, RDS, VPC)
• Preferable exposure to DevOps and related technologies (bitbucket, Jenkins)
• Exposure to Postgres and/or Murex would be beneficial
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely to IT and business teams and to senior management
